Alexander Yee (b. January 23, 2003) is an Australian musician and composer of Chinese and Korean descent.

He was trained in the Western-classical tradition of piano playing at the age of 4, and would also grow up singing in his primary and secondary school’s chapel choir. Yee learned the clarinet from the age of 11 and would continue to play it as part of his high school’s marching band, often playing at the Elizabeth Street ANZAC parade. From the age of 16, he began to play piano for his high school’s big band and contemporary worship band.

Yee would then become immersed in musical theater during his last two years of high school, being cast in the role of Dewey Finn for his high school’s production of School of Rock, learning both guitar and bass for the role. His interest in composition also began to flourish around this time, writing pieces of piano music for the birthdays of his close friends and family.

Following high school, Yee would begin to play regularly as a contemporary Christian worship pianist and singer for his local church and his university Christian society.

Following an accident on a local church mission trip, Yee found himself incapacitated from a fractured right hand. His recovery left him with a newfound appreciation for his art and so he endeavored to write one solo piano composition per month until he produced 40 minutes of material which would later become his first album, HOMAGE, released by PARMA Recordings in 2024.
